White vs White

My white obsession continues! I'm pining over these two bedrooms, even though they both have very different feels. I'd love to be able to pretty up my home with soft florals and various girly touches, but Mr. Unreliable simply wouldn't allow it. For someone who often goes on the record as saying "That's your thing, do what you want", he has some very strong opinions on decorating!

As a result, the first image would be a happy compromise, don't you think? The greenery in the bookshelf is the perfect finishing touch. I happen to think indoor plants are highly underrated, though I know it's not for everyone!

Tell-tale plants aside, I still did a double-take when AT mentioned that these lovely images are in fact from our flat-packed Swedish friends, IKEA. I'm not sure if it's cool to like IKEA or not these days, but these lovely settings make me swoon regardless. We seem to have a slightly limited range here in Australia (and the prices seemed to have recently hiked up too!), but where there's a will, there's a way...just ask my credit card!

when I was growing up, my room was all white. I used to love that too.

the first one I think. I did somethign similar (not as good so I have a few ideas too) you would believe Mr Z's 2cents of wisdom - 'its white' & 'there's a lot of pillows between me & my bed'.

Liv - You're right, I think the first picture is a go, it's quite warm and inviting without being too girly or too hard-lined and modern. As for white clothing...eek! Let me know how you go! I'm so messy and clumsy, so my wardrobe is rather devoid of white. I can't believe I just bought a white couch cover - ahh, what was I thinking? :D

Jenny - Glad you like it!

Mango Girl - Uh oh, the pressure's on now :D

Megara - Gorgeous post, that kitchen with the brick wall is AMAZING! My old apartment had a big painted white brick wall out the back, I miss it already (only been in my new place for a week!)

katrina - Oh so lovely! My bedroom was white but with an apple red ceiling...my sister's choice that I had to endure, but that I eventually came to love. Don't think I'd do it again though! :D

Sum - Woo, white on white fans unite! And thank you kindly, it's still a work in progress but I'm glad you like it!

CoffeewithZooly - Mr Z sounds very, very familiar! Which is why I was extra shocked when I asked Mr. U what colour couch cover he wanted...and he picked white. I'm a little nervous about it now, heavens knows he's never going to clean it!
