Falling Gardens of Old

The kind people over at Architectradure reminded me quite some time ago about one of the most magical places I've ever been, so I'm finally getting around to sharing. The beautiful images below are the work of Gerda Steiner and Jörg Lenzlinger from their installation at the Venice Biennale of 2003. It was magical enough to be in Venice for the very first time, but casually (accidentally!) strolling into the San Staë church on the Grand Canal, I was definitely not prepared for the magic within.

Truly breathtaking.

um. can this be my room?! For the first 15 years of my life, I slept underneath a canopy of flowers. ;) even as an adult I sometimes miss it.
