Divine Decorations by Anne Black

It's official, less than one month til Christmas! And although I've been pondering decorations for a few months, it's only just dawned on me that this will be my very first Christmas with Soda (we adopted her up from a shelter last Boxing Day!)

So in reality my Christmas tree will have to be Clumsy-Cat-Friendly (still not entirely sure how to achieve this yet!) but in my dreams I'll be thinking about a tree covered in these stunning porcelain ornaments by Danish designer Anne Black.

These heart ornaments caught my eye at the Elevate stand at the PYD Design Markets over the weekend, and I must say the photographs just don't do them any justice. They're so light and delicate and beautifully made.

I love the handmade quality of these cookie-esque Seam ornaments too, and of course it's hard to go by the classic bauble made new again with Anne's minimal design aesthetic.

It would be such a shame to take them down after Christmas and store them in a box for the rest of the year!

Is your Christmas Tree up yet? How are you decorating this festive season?

What gorgeous Christmas ornaments! And Soda is doubly gorgeous. I tend to go tree-less during Christmas (I have a small army of cats) but the trees in my front garden are draped with oodles of Christmas lights. I'd love a tree inside but after many years of hearing the tree thump onto the floor in the middle of the night and finding the entire place strewn with baubles, I've given up, lol!

Haha I'm still waiting to hear that thump, I'm sure it's not too far away! She has managed to wrangle a few of the baubles off so I've been woken up a few times to the sound of hollow plastic hitting the skirting (all the shatterproof glass ornaments are up the top of the tree!)

I was pondering putting some lights on my little maple tree out on my balcony, though outdoor lights are strangely expensive everywhere I've looked - maybe next year! I think having an outdoor/living tree is just as good, if not better than a Christmas tree! Though I do love my plastic-fantastic little tree too :D

Good luck with clumsy cat and tree! Our cat (now no longer with us) used to like pushing his way in amongst the gifts and sitting under the tree. Getting in was fine - but getting back out again more of a struggle!

Aww I'm sorry to hear about your kitty :(

My clumsy little lady has already made herself at home under our tree, although as I'm so unorganised and haven't done ANY Christmas shopping yet, she has plenty of room to move :D

No disasters as yet, fingers crossed it stays that way!

xx Kit
